This publication offers a glimpse into Malaya and Singapore around the turn of the 20th century through the lens of photographer Charles J. Kleingrothe.  His work, originally compiled into a portfolio published in 1907, provides a valuable historical record of the region. This new edition, drawn from the collection of HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor, makes Kleingrothe's photographs more accessible to a wider audience.  The book includes 139 of the original 175 photogravures, accompanied by both new and original captions.

Malay Peninsula: Old photographs of Malaya and Singapore by Kleingrothe, c. 1900 presents images of daily life, landscapes, and possibly commercial activities within Malaya and Singapore.
